How Does It Work?

When you donate to Bumbleroot's Donate-a-Share program, you are helping provide Community CSA Shares to local organizations that use our produce for education and meal programs. Donate any amount and Bumbleroot will match your donation. Together we can help to increase access to nutritious, locally-grown food in the Portland Community.  Last year we supplied vegetables and seedlings to three non-profits that feed and educate children, teens and intellectually disabled adults about the importance of eating healthy food. You can help!

How Do I Donate?

You can donate by going to the "donations " section of our CSA Sign Up page, or by mailing a check for the amount you'd like to contribute. Every dollar helps! This is one of our favorite ways to make our fresh produce available to people in our community who might not otherwise have access to it. We love seeing the same faces week after week and hearing about how they are benefiting from the food we have grown.  We will keep you informed about how your donation is helping through our newsletter- so be sure to sign up.  Thank you so much!

What organizations do we work with?

Bumbleroot donates vegetables and herbs to Creative Trails in Portland and My Place Teen Center in Westbrook. Creative Trails offers community support programs for adults with intellectual uniqueness, including a culinary arts program. We provide a box of veggies each week for use in their cooking classes, and they take a field trip out to the farm to see where and how all the food is grown! My Place Teen Center is an after-school and summer program for youth ages 10-18. MPTC serves 60-90 kids every day and provides over 14,000 meals a year. Bumbleroot donates fresh veggies to help make those meals healthy ones. We hope to work with these great organizations in 2017 and beyond!

Thank You!

One of  Bumbleroot's goals is to make healthy, locally-grown food accessible to more people in our community. While the "local food movement" is growing nationwide, there are still so many who don't have the opportunity to participate. We want to help educate people about the importance of local food production, and about the benefits of eating fresh, organic produce. It is through the generosity of others that we are able to offer CSA shares to local organizations whose goals align with ours, and we are so grateful to those who have donated. Thank you all for supporting Bumbleroot.
